Medical Laboratory Technologist C - Laboratory Services
About The Position
Under the direction of the Technical Management team and Medical Leadership, the Laboratory Technical Specialist performs analyses and procedures offered by the division using appropriate methodologies and quality assurance techniques. The Laboratory Technical Specialist must have the capability to conduct all aspects of procedural and instrument troubleshooting, method evaluation, establishment and maintenance of quality assurance and safety programs, as well as interpret the technical acceptability of test results. The Laboratory Technical Specialist demonstrates a high level of technical expertise within the Core Laboratory, leadership skills and has some administrative responsibilities in the laboratory. They must communicate effectively and professionally. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times as deemed essential by the Medical Laboratory Technologist Code of Conduct.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved program in Medical Technology
- Three years experience in a Lab setting
- Licensed with NSRMLS and CSMLS
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Excellent organization and technical skills
- Good decision-making skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a Core Lab setting
- Experience with Cerner CIS
- Previous experience with Quality Assurance initiatives
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Responsibilities
