About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join a fast-paced hospital laboratory team. This role is responsible for performing routine and stat laboratory testing, supporting multiple laboratory disciplines, ensuring quality standards, and delivering accurate diagnostic results that support patient care. The position requires the ability to function independently during evening, night, and off-shift operations as needed.

Requirements

  • Active Florida Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Technologist License.
  • Associate Degree in Medical Technology with formal clinical training.
  • National certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Technologist (ASCP preferred).
  • Licensure in at least three core laboratory disciplines.
  • Strong knowledge of Blood Bank, Chemistry, and Hematology testing.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science.
  • Minimum 3 years of hospital laboratory experience.
  • Blood Bank experience.
  • Experience working as a laboratory generalist.
  • Strong critical-thinking and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and stat laboratory testing according to established procedures and regulatory standards.
  • Rotate and maintain competency across Blood Bank, Chemistry, and Hematology departments.
  • Analyze, interpret, and validate laboratory test results.
  • Perform quality control procedures and maintain compliance with laboratory standards.
  • Assist with specimen collection, processing, and referral testing activities as needed.
  • Troubleshoot testing issues and resolve laboratory workflow concerns.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
  • Support turnaround time goals and departmental quality initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff, physicians, and healthcare teams to support patient care.
  • Function independently during evening, night, and off-shift operations as needed.
