About The Position

MTK Healthcare Inc. is hiring a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT/MLS) for a 13-week contract assignment at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale (MHC) in Carbondale, IL. This position involves performing complex laboratory testing and specimen analysis, processing and analyzing various clinical specimens, ensuring quality control, troubleshooting equipment, reviewing test results, and assisting with laboratory procedures and quality improvement initiatives. The goal is to maintain competency and deliver accurate, timely patient results. This is an ideal opportunity for a dedicated Medical Laboratory professional seeking a travel or contract role.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Medical Laboratory experience
• Strong Blood Bank experience required
• Active Illinois MLT/MLS license
• MT/MLS (ASCP), CLS, or equivalent certification
• Bachelor's Degree (or Associate's Degree for grandfathered personnel)

Responsibilities

• Perform complex laboratory testing and specimen analysis.
• Process and analyze blood, urine, body fluid, and other clinical specimens.
• Ensure quality control and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed.
• Review test results for accuracy and maintain compliance with laboratory standards.
• Assist with laboratory procedures, documentation, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain competency while delivering accurate and timely patient results.
