About The Position

This role is responsible for the pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of testing. The technician follows standard operating procedures, ensures laboratory safety, quality, and regulatory requirements are met. They serve as a laboratory resource to other health care personnel and collaborate with other departments across the enterprise, demonstrating critical and independent judgment in decision-making and problem-solving. Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associates degree in Laboratory Science required.
• Possess a national certification for Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) through an approved Health and Human Services (HHS) agency, for example American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP); or be registry eligible.
• Registry eligible candidates must successfully complete the Board of Registry examination within 12 months of employment.
• If working in North Dakota (ND), must be licensed or have a provisional license, by the ND Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice.
• Maintain continuing education credits equivalent to the state requirements as needed for license and certifications.
• May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
