About The Position

LabCorp is seeking a part-time Clinical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our team at Ascension SE Wisconsin Hospital - Elmbrook - in Brookfield, Wisconsin. This role operates on the 3rd shift, working part-time from 10:00 pm to 6:30 am on weekdays and alternating holidays and weekends. Requirements

Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
One year or more of core lab/generalist clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLT degree.

Nice To Haves

ASCP or AMT certification
Familiarity with laboratory information systems
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Proficient with computers
High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
Non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirement

Responsibilities

Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
Report accurate and timely test results to ensure quality patient care.
Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
