About The Position
Rural hospital located several hundred miles northwest of Anchorage, AK seeking a full-time, Medical Laboratory Technician join their team. This role involves performing and validating a wide range of laboratory tests on body fluids and substances to aid in disease diagnosis and treatment. The technician will also be responsible for verifying test procedures, reporting results, maintaining records, and assisting in resolving technical issues. This is a unique opportunity to gain experience in a remote Alaskan setting.
Requirements
- Must have ASCP or AMT
- Lift or carry unaided 25 to 50 pounds
- View electronic monitors for prolonged periods of time

Responsibilities
- Perform and validate chemical, microscopic, morphologic, immunologic, and bacteriologic tests of body fluids and substances to provide data for diagnosis and treatment of disease
- Verify test procedures for accuracy of each test and test system as it pertains to the specialty assigned
- Report results, maintain records, and assist with distributing test reports
- Assist in resolving technical problems, monitor test analysis and specimen examination through evaluation of proficiency testing and ensure that remedial action is taken and communicated to all testing personnel when necessary
