Performs clinical laboratory tests according to established procedures of verification, processing, testing, and reporting. This role involves performing quality control procedures to validate test results, assisting in the delivery of physician reports, responding to technical questions, and performing preventive maintenance and monitoring of all laboratory equipment. The technician will also maintain adequate supply inventories, perform venipuncture and other specimen collections, and provide teaching and education to students and other personnel. The position requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work under direct supervision in a stressful environment. It also requires meeting the requirements for "High Complexity Testing Personnel" per the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA).
