Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Technology, Chemical or Biological Science (Required)
• American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) Required

Nice To Haves

• 1 - 2 years’ experience clinical in a related field (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Performing a full range of laboratory tests
• Confirming the accuracy of test results
• Reporting laboratory findings to doctors, pathologists, or other physicians
• Working in any of the major areas of the laboratory: Transfusion Service, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology/Immunology, Toxicology, Special Chemistry and Fibrinolysis
• Operating and maintaining a variety of laboratory instruments
• Utilizing laboratory computer system in performance of duties
• Maintaining strict adherence to established policies and procedures
• Working under the supervision of a general supervisor or medical technologist
• Ability to Prioritize/Organize/Handle Quantity of Work
• Accuracy/Quality/Completeness of Work
• Complex Assignments Received/Delegated/Completed
• Judgement Skills/Problem Solving Skills
• Overall Procedure Knowledge/Quality Assurance Knowledge – including documentation as needed
