Requirements

Associate's Degree (Required)
Up to 1 year experience clinical experience as required by MLT program at a hospital (Required)
MLT - Medical Technician - Certified from ASCP American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) Upon Hire Required

Responsibilities

Performing a full range of laboratory tests
Confirming the accuracy of test results
Reporting laboratory findings to doctors, pathologists, or other physicians
Working in any of the major areas of the laboratory: Transfusion Service, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology/Immunology, Toxicology, Special Chemistry and Fibrinolysis
Operating and maintaining a variety of laboratory instruments
Utilizing laboratory computer system in performance of duties
Maintaining strict adherence to established policies and procedures
Working under the supervision of a general supervisor or medical technologist
Specimen processing, test performance or result reporting
