The position assists in the collection of laboratory specimens, performs instrument maintenance and recordkeeping, and acts as a resource person for issues of laboratory services. Minimum Qualifications Required Educational Degree: Bachelor’s Degree Major/Area of Concentration: Medical Laboratory Science or Chemical/Physical/Biological Science Preferred Education: Medical Laboratory Science, or equivalent laboratory training/experience or provisions meeting the requirements defined in the CLIA Regulations 42CFR493.1489 Required Certifications, Credentials and Licenses: Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent certification must be in place or obtained within six months of hire. Preferred Certifications, Credentials and Licenses: Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP). Required Experience: Clinical experience as part of Bachelor degree. Preferred Experience: Four or more years performing high complexity testing in the respective lab section plus any other qualifications specified in the CLIA regulations ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The Medical Laboratory Technician precisely and accurately performs and results laboratory procedures using established quality assurance protocols. Requirements

  • For Medical Laboratory Scientist: Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Chemical/Physical/Biological Science.
  • For Medical Laboratory Technician: Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.
  • For Medical Laboratory Scientist: Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent certification must be in place or obtained within six months of hire.
  • For Medical Laboratory Technician: Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent certification must be in place or obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • For Medical Laboratory Scientist: Clinical experience as part of Bachelor degree.
  • For Medical Laboratory Technician: Clinical experience in a clinical laboratory as part of Associate Degree.
