About The Position

Austin Regional Clinic seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Laboratory Scientist for its South Float position. Under general supervision and established laboratory procedures, the role performs routine medical laboratory tests used in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease and may also include phlebotomy. The employee maintains compliance and confidentiality while supporting the organization’s mission and philosophy. The position is responsible for specimen processing, test performance, and reporting results; coordinating specimens sent to reference or outside laboratories; and maintaining records of proficiency testing. It follows laboratory quality-control policies and documents quality-control activities, calibrations, and maintenance. The role may also demonstrate technical skills to students and new employees and perform high-complexity testing only if qualified and under the onsite, direct supervision of a supervisor. The position applies Total Quality Management guidelines, follows company policies including OSHA, HIPAA, compliance, and Code of Conduct requirements, and maintains regular, dependable attendance. It works holiday shifts as required by company policy. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with availability between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
