The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) performs clinical laboratory tests by standard operating policies and procedures. Understands method principles, performs quality control & calibrations, performs preventive maintenance, and analyzes results as to accuracy, acceptability and critical limits. As an MLT, you will prepare patient specimens as required for laboratory testing and perform laboratory tests specific to department. You will monitor test results to assure test quality and validity, and communicate test results in a timely manner. You will also enter and retrieve data from laboratory computer systems, clean and maintain laboratory equipment and environment, and demonstrate appropriate, caring behavior in the workplace, treating patients, their families, visitors and staff with respect and dignity. This role requires working alternate shifts as required and performing other duties as assigned, including, but not limited to, phlebotomy.
