About The Position

This position will assist in quality/safety management of the NCVDLS (North Carolina Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory System) which consists of four diverse laboratories located in Raleigh, Monroe, Elkin, and Fletcher. Responsibilities include overseeing the equipment maintenance & calibration program, overseeing the proficiency testing & competency program, supporting the internal audit program, and providing technical assistance and consultation to management and staff on interpretation and application of quality/safety standards and accreditation requirements, including compliance, corrective action plans, development/implementation/maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures, and representation of NCVDLS during all external audit activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, chemistry, or a biological science from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in a laboratory in the assigned area, one of which is in a supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be capable of meeting the Federal CLIA’88 personnel requirements for a general supervisor in a laboratory performing high complexity testing.
