About The Position

The Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) I at Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma (DLO) in Oklahoma City, OK, will perform routine testing in various laboratory departments including chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, serology, coagulation, molecular, and microbiology. This full-time position involves assisting with specimen processing, performing instrument maintenance and troubleshooting, and contributing to special projects as assigned by the supervisor/manager. The role requires adherence to employer and hospital policies, a positive and professional attitude, and strong teamwork skills. The position operates on an 8-hour day shift, Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends and holidays. Additionally, dayshift technical staff are expected to supervise an instrument or department and monitor inventory for their designated area.

Requirements

  • AS degree in Medical Lab Technology or BS in Medical Technology.
  • ASCP MT/MLT certification or equivalent or be eligible for national MT/MLT certification.
  • Good understanding of laboratory procedures.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems, to identify cause and synthesize alternatives.
  • Clear and effective communication.
  • Ability to react positively with coworkers.
  • Ability to use independent judgement to solve problems.
  • Able to manage time, prioritize, and delegate.
  • Keyboard skills are important.
  • Good customer service skills, professional appearance and attitude are required.
  • Must be willing to work overtime or other times/shifts if required.
  • Must be a team player.

Nice To Haves

  • Good computer skills a plus.
  • Knowledge in Epic and Media Lab is a plus.

Responsibilities
