About The Position

The Medical Laboratory Scientist will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care through nursing education, nursing research, and innovations in nursing practice. Texas Health Southwest and Texas Health Clearfork operate as one hospital across two locations, serving the southwest Fort Worth area. The 261-bed, full-service hospital provides specialties including surgical services, orthopedics, rehabilitation, imaging, and adult critical care, along with a 24-hour emergency department. The hospital is certified as a Primary Heart Attack Center, Primary Stroke Center, Level III Trauma Center, Level III Maternal Center, Level III Neonatal Center, and is nationally accredited for Breast care and Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement. Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree for an MLS (or attained within 3 months of hire date) in Medical Technology, Applied Technology, Clinical Lab Science or Chemical, Physical or Biological Science preferred.
Internship in an approved Medical Technician training program required.
MLS (ASCP) Medical Lab Scientist required within 6 months after hire
MT (ASCP) Medical Technologist required within 6 months after hire
Other AMT, AAB, HHS, NCA, HEW, CLS- CA, FL, NY state license, Philippine Board of Technical Technology required within 6 months after hire
Or M(ASCP) - Microbiology if working in Microbiology required within 6 months after hire

Nice To Haves

Individuals hired as a CLS II prior to January 3, 2010 will be grandfathered to the MLS position with existing education.
2 years’ experience in a Medical Laboratory preferred.
Previous experience in high-complexity Microbiology lab highly preferred
