About The Position

Texas Health is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist for its laboratory at Texas Health Cleburne in Cleburne, Texas. The role supports high-quality patient care through laboratory services, including specimen integrity, laboratory operations, test procedures, quality control and documentation, professional accountability, and safety. The position works 5:00 PM–5:30 AM Thursday through Saturday in a collaborative, team-oriented environment with supportive leadership and a commitment to excellence in patient care and laboratory services. MLT candidates will also be considered.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a Medical Technology program or equivalent science degree.
• Internship in an approved Medical Technician training program.
• MLS (ASCP) Medical Lab Scientist certification within 6 months after hire.
• MT (ASCP) Medical Technologist certification within 6 months after hire.
• One of the listed alternative credentials within 6 months after hire: AMT, AAB, HHS, NCA, HEW, CLS—California, Florida, or New York state license, or Philippine Board of Technical Technology.
• M(ASCP) Microbiology certification within 6 months after hire if working in Microbiology.
• Strong positive interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly.
• Problem-solving ability and time-management skills.
• Organizational skills to work successfully in a fast-paced environment.
• Computer literacy.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of experience in a medical laboratory preferred.
