About The Position
The Medical Laboratory Scientist will be required to follow any other instructions and to perform any other duties requested by his or her supervisor. This is a per diem position with varied shifts.
Requirements
- Accurately performs blood bank procedures 100% of the time.
- Performs all quality control and instrument check procedures and maintains related records.
- Performs quality control testing according to established protocols 95% of the time.
- Performs and records preventive maintenance procedures 95% of the time.
- Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-services, and workshops; applies to laboratory.
- Attends at least one outside seminar per year or equivalent.
- Suggests at least one workable idea for improving productivity or procedure to improve quality.
- Demonstrates good judgement.
- Initiates resolution of instrument/QC problems without manager 95% of the time.
- Able to resolve personnel problems without manager’s assistance 95% of the time.
- Adheres to safety practices, reports accidents/hazards and maintains equipment as outlined in hospital policies.
