About The Position

This position is responsible for performing all tests accurately and efficiently, following established policies and procedures. The role involves daily maintenance and quality control of equipment and reagents, recognizing and solving problems related to instruments, reagents, test results, and supplies. The Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician will record results accurately, utilize computer systems correctly, and notify clients of panic value results. They will also address client inquiries courteously and efficiently, participate in training new employees and students, and comply with all corporate integrity and safety policies. Other duties as required to contribute to the overall effectiveness of CompuNet Clinical Laboratories will also be performed.

Requirements

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Medical Laboratory Science (MLT/MLS/CLS).
• ASCP or AMT certification (or eligible) or comparable required.

Responsibilities

• Perform all tests in an accurate and efficient manner following established policies and procedures.
• Perform and record daily and/or routine maintenance and quality control on all equipment or reagents used for testing.
• Recognize problems with instruments, reagents, test results and/or supplies and initiates problem solving procedures.
• Record all results in an accurate, complete and readable format, utilizes computer systems correctly to generate results and notifies clients appropriately of panic value results.
• Address client related questions and problems in a courteous and efficient manner, following department policies and procedures.
• Participate in training of new employees and students in appropriate technical areas.
• Comply with all corporate integrity and safety policies of CompuNet Clinical Laboratories.
• Contribute to the overall effectiveness of CompuNet Clinical Laboratories by performing other duties as required.
