The Genomic Microarray department is in the Molecular division. We utilize microarrays to assess for submicroscopic deletions and duplications within the genome and STRs to perform Maternal Cell contamination and Chimerism studies. Much of our testing is to identify causes of developmental delay, autism spectrum disorders, etc. We also perform prenatal testing to help determine the cause of ultrasound abnormalities and pregnancy loss. A smaller portion of our testing is looking for genomic alternation in cancers. This position provides technical and non-technical support within the laboratory areas qualified. Functions include an expansive mastery of technical material and knowledge of high complexity tasks. Must be able to work flexible hours and on call may be required. This position is not qualified for delegation of supervisory duties for NY testing areas.
