About The Position

Under general supervision, performs complex analyses on a variety of sample types, utilizing independent judgment to generate acceptable test results. Performs as lead by managing workflow, mentoring others and serving as a clinical and technical resource.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, biology or related sciences and minimum of three years’ experience in a clinical laboratory required or; an associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, or completion of Military Laboratory Technology with a minimum of five years of experience.
• Three (3) years of experience in clinical laboratory required with a Bachelor’s degree, or five years of experience in a clinical laboratory with an Associate’s degree or completion of Military Laboratory Technician program required.

Nice To Haves

• Licensure/Certifications: ASCP or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs responsibilities of MLS I, MLS II and MLS III.
• Leads quality improvement initiatives as a member of a multi-disciplinary patient care services team.
• Develops and leads efforts to improve regulatory compliance within and beyond the department.
• Assists leadership team with interviewing, orienting, training and supervising.
• Provides input to leadership team for performance evaluations and corrective actions.
• Collaborates with leadership in identifying gaps and opportunities for professional development and strategic organizational initiatives.
• Facilitates in creating a positive departmental culture.
• Assists leadership in identification and resolution of complex clinical and operational issues.
• Responsible for regulatory and accreditation agency preparation and participation.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
