About The Position

The Medical Laboratory Scientist II – Flow Cytometry performs complex laboratory testing and analysis of blood, bone marrow, tissue, and other clinical specimens using flow cytometry methodologies. This position is responsible for specimen processing, instrument operation, quality control, data analysis, and accurate reporting of results to support the diagnosis and monitoring of hematologic, immunologic, and other diseases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Technology, Chemistry, or Biology
  • Valid ASCP Certification
  • Two or more years of experience working in a clinical laboratory
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

  • Previous flow cytometry lab experience

Responsibilities

  • Processing, staining and analyzing routine specimens.
  • Keeping all instrumentation in good working order and identify and notify the supervisor of instrument malfunctions.
  • Aiding in instrument repair.
  • Identifying abnormal or discrepancy results.
  • Limited participation in student teaching and assisting of other personnel rotating through the section.
  • Limited administrative duties.
