About The Position

The Medical Laboratory performs laboratory testing on patient specimens, primarily using automated and manual chemistry analyzers. The role supports accurate and timely diagnosis by producing reliable test results while following laboratory procedures, quality-control standards, and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Sciences OR an approved ASCP discipline (30 semester hours in biology and chemistry, which may be obtained within, or in addition to, the Bachelor's).
• ASCP or another accrediting agency certified or eligible (Certification must be obtained within one year of employment).
• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

• Valid ASCP certification

Responsibilities

• Processes and evaluates specimens and performs appropriate tests to assist with detection, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Records and evaluates daily, weekly, and monthly quality control issues in their assigned areas for further review by the supervisor.
• Maintains safe work practices, follows all regulatory requirements and engages supervisor, manager, or director as appropriate.
• Assists with day-to-day operations of assigned section in Core Lab.
