About The Position

The Clinical Educator, reporting to the Medical Laboratory Science Program Director, plays a key role in delivering and advancing hospital-based education programs within the Department of Pathology. The position focuses primarily on teaching (70%), including delivering lectures, leading lab and case-based instruction, developing curriculum, assessing student performance, and supporting learner success. The educator also ensures content stays current with clinical practices and collaborates on curriculum improvement. The remaining 30% of the role involves departmental service, including supporting program growth, student recruitment, community outreach, and workforce development initiatives. The educator contributes to expanding educational programs, assisting with admissions, engaging with prospective students, and helping develop training opportunities for both new and practicing laboratory professionals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Medical Laboratory Science required or Bachelor's Degree Clinical Laboratory Sciences required or Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required
  • Medical Technologist (ASCP) - American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) required
  • Experience as a medical laboratory scientist, clinical Laboratory professional, or certified medical technologist 3-5 years required
  • Experience in teaching or training within a clinical or academic setting 2-3 years required
  • Strong instructional and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in laboratory techniques and procedures across multiple disciplines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to mentor and support students in a clinical setting.
  • Attention to detail and adherence to safety standards.
