About The Position
Kidney Specialist of Southern Nevada (KSOSN) is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Assistant to support laboratory operations at our laboratory in Las Vegas, Nevada. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in clinical lab environments and a dedication to patient care and precision. This is an in-person, full-time position.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a laboratory setting.
- Certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or American Medical Technologists (AMT).
Responsibilities
- Assist with basic clinical laboratory testing under supervision, in accordance with lab policies and medical regulations.
- Log specimens and accurately input patient data into the lab information system.
- Generate and distribute worklists to appropriate lab sections.
- Prepare specimens for transport to reference laboratories.
- Maintain records by filing hard copies, lab reports, and test result documentation.
- Ensure compliance with quality control and performance improvement procedures.
- Respond to incoming calls and serve as a primary liaison between the lab and client offices.
- Order and manage laboratory supply inventory.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the lab environment, including proper disposal of specimens.
- Assist with scheduling and coordination of non-technical staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Laboratory Director or designee.
