About The Position

LabCorp is seeking a Medical Lab Technologist to join our team in Eugene, OR. This role involves determining the acceptability of specimens for testing, performing routine and complex technical procedures, and monitoring/operating instrumentation. The Medical Lab Technologist will make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving, prepare and evaluate new reagents, and report accurate test results to ensure quality patient care. The position also includes performing and documenting preventive maintenance and quality control, managing testing bench supplies, and assisting with specimen processing when needed. Maintaining a safe work environment and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Science, Medical Technology
  • ASCP or AMT certification

  • 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience
  • High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask

  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Responsibilities

  • Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
  • Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
  • Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
  • Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
  • Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
  • Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
  • Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
  • Assist with processing of specimens when needed
  • Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
