About The Position

The Medical Lab Technologist in Point of Care Testing (POCT) partners with leads, coordinators, and leadership to serve as a subject matter expert. The role monitors regulatory compliance and quality assurance, provides education, and offers clinical and operational support across assigned sites. The technologist has primary responsibility for assigned site(s), ensuring standardized practices and compliance with applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Proof of completion of a clinical internship, such as a NAACLS-accredited hospital-based or university-based program. Accepted proof includes a hospital-based certificate of completion or a university-based “Clinical Practicum” designation on the transcript.
• One year of relevant experience in a related field is preferred.
• At hire, one of the following certifications is required for Spectrum Health labs except Toxicology: Medical Technologist (MT) certification from ASCP; Medical Laboratory Scientist certification from ASCP; or Certified (AMT) certification from AMT.
• For the Toxicology Department only, Clinical Toxicology certification from AACC is required upon hire.
