Medical Lab Technologist for Hospital Stat Lab
About The Position
LabCorp is seeking a Medical Lab Technologist to join our team in Issaquah, WA. This role is for the Hospital Stat Lab and involves working a Wednesday-Saturday night shift from 9:30 PM to 8:00 AM, including rotating holidays. The position requires determining the acceptability of specimens, performing routine and complex technical procedures, and monitoring/troubleshooting instrumentation. The technologist will also prepare and test new reagents, report accurate test results for quality patient care, perform preventative maintenance and quality control, and manage testing bench supplies. Specimen processing assistance and maintaining a safe work environment are also key responsibilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Life Science, Medical Technology
- ASCP or AMT certification

- 2 years or more of clinical laboratory testing experience
- High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed

Responsibilities
- Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
- Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
- Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
- Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
- Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
- Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
- Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures
- Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
- Assist with processing of specimens when needed
- Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
