About The Position

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Medical Lab Technologist for a Travel or Local job in Pagosa Springs, CO. This position is located at Pagosa Springs Medical Center and involves a Weekend Night Shift. The role requires performing a wide range of laboratory tests, analyzing and reporting results, managing workflow, operating and maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The technologist will also utilize Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Cerner EHR, collaborate with healthcare teams, and support testing needs independently, especially during night shifts.

Requirements

  • Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field with completed clinical training required
  • ASCP MLS/MT or AMT certification required
  • Current AHA BLS certification required
  • Minimum 5 years of recent hospital laboratory experience preferred
  • Strong recent laboratory generalist experience required
  • Previous independent night shift or weekend shift experience required
  • Experience working in Critical Access Hospital or rural hospital settings strongly preferred
  • Experience with QuidelOrtho Vitros 7600 required
  • Cerner EHR experience required
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 5 years of recent hospital laboratory experience
  • Experience working in Critical Access Hospital or rural hospital settings

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and complex laboratory testing across hematology, chemistry, microbiology, coagulation, urinalysis, serology, and blood bank
  • Analyze, verify, and report accurate laboratory results in a timely manner
  • Prioritize laboratory workflow and support urgent testing needs during night shifts
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment
  • Perform quality control, calibrations, maintenance, and corrective actions according to laboratory standards
  • Process specimens and perform phlebotomy as required
  • Utilize Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Cerner EHR for documentation and reporting
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, and clinical teams to support patient care
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and hospital policies
  • Support Emergency Department and inpatient testing needs independently with minimal supervision
