About The Position

LabCorp is seeking a Medical Lab Technician to join our team in Redmond, WA. This role involves working in the Hospital Stat Lab with a specific work schedule of Wednesday-Saturday night shift from 9:30 AM to 8:00 AM, including rotating holidays. The position requires determining the acceptability of specimens, performing routine and complex technical procedures, monitoring and troubleshooting instrumentation, preparing and testing reagents, reporting accurate test results, performing maintenance and quality control, and managing testing bench supplies. The role also includes assisting with specimen processing when needed and maintaining a safe work environment with appropriate personal protective equipment.

Requirements

• Associates Degree in Life Science, Medical Technology
• ASCP or AMT certification
• High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
