About The Position

This is a Full-Time, 1st shift position with rotating weekends and holidays in the Laboratory Department at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. The Medical Lab Technician or Medical Technologist will ensure the accuracy and timeliness of patient laboratory test results, maintain the quality of test results by following defined Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) procedures, and ensure safety and compliance. The role also involves maintaining appropriate education to accomplish work objectives and current certifications, ensuring productive and efficient operations of the section and department, and adhering to general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment.

Requirements

• MLT (ASCP) or equivalent certification required.
• Ability to listen and communicate effectively.
• Technical ability and interest.
• Computer and keyboard skills preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree preferred.
• Previous experience as a Medical Lab Technician preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures accuracy and timeliness of patient laboratory test results.
