About The Position

Position is available for a medical laboratory technician in the lab of the Robeson County Health Department. The employee in this role will carry out a variety of laboratory tests in the areas of chemistry, serology, hematology, microbiology, and urinalysis. Established quality control and instrument maintenance are part of the daily duties of the lab tech. Routine venipuncture is also performed. The employee will be part of a lab team serving all programs of the department.

Requirements

• Associate degree in medical technology from an appropriately accredited institution or completion of a certified laboratory assistant course in medical technology or a comparable course, and one year of medical laboratory experience; OR high school or General Educational Development diploma and three years of medical laboratory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license required upon hire and duration of employment.
• Must take and successfully pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Must pass a Motor Vehicle Records driver license check.
• Must submit to random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident drug and alcohol testing.
• A criminal background check must be completed by the County of Robeson for potential applicants.
