About The Position
Saint Francis Hospital & Medical Center in Hartford, Connecticut, is hiring a Medical Lab Tech for its Automated Lab Team. The role performs and reports routine and highly complex analyses across multiple laboratory sections, supporting patient diagnosis, treatment decisions, and clinical outcomes. The position is 40 hours per week on the day shift, with rotating weekends and holidays. New graduates are welcome. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is not available.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.
- MT-ASCP or MLT-ASCP certification, or eligibility to take the certification exam and achieve certification within the first year of employment.
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is unavailable.

Responsibilities
- Determine normal and abnormal components of body fluids by conducting chemical analyses of blood, urine, spinal fluids, and gastric juices.
- Analyze blood cells by counting and identifying cells using microscopic techniques and procedures.
- Maintain operation of analyzers and other laboratory equipment by calibrating equipment, completing preventive maintenance, following manufacturer instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, arranging repairs, maintaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
