About The Position

Texas Health Kaufman is seeking a Part-Time Medical Laboratory Scientist to join their Laboratory Department. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy of patient results in a community hospital setting. The laboratory is newly remodeled and equipped with the latest technology. The hospital has served the communities of Kaufman, Crandall, Forney, Gun Barrel City, Mabank, Terrell and surrounding areas for over 40 years. It is a 91-bed, acute-care, full-service hospital specializing in various surgical services, diagnostic and imaging services, outpatient physical therapy, respiratory care, nuclear medicine, and emergency medicine. Texas Health Kaufman is a Joint Commission-certified facility and recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Pathway to Excellence hospital.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Applied Technology, Clinical Lab Science or Chemical, Physical or Biological Science preferred. Degree may be obtained within 3 months of hire.
Internship in an approved Medical Technology training program is required.
MT(ASCP) - Medical Technologist 6 Months is required
MLS(ASCP) - Medical Lab Scientist 6 Months is required
Other AMT, AAB, HHS, NCA, HEW, CLS- CA, FL, NY state license, Philippine Board of Technical Technology 6 Months is required
M(ASCP) - Microbiology if working in Microbiology 6 Months is required

Nice To Haves

2 Years experience in a Medical Laboratory is preferred
