About The Position

This position is located at Miami Valley Hospital's Free Standing Emergency Department in Beavercreek, OH. It is a full-time role on the evening shift (3:00 PM-11:30 PM) with a weekend and holiday rotation. The Medical Lab Scientist/Technician will perform all tests accurately and efficiently, maintain equipment and reagents, and troubleshoot any issues that arise. They will also be responsible for accurate record-keeping, client communication, and training new employees. Compliance with CompuNet Clinical Laboratories' integrity and safety policies is expected.

Requirements

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Medical Laboratory Science (MLT/MLS/CLS).
• ASCP or AMT certification (or eligible) or comparable required.

Responsibilities

• Perform all tests in an accurate and efficient manner following established policies and procedures.
• Perform and record daily and/or routine maintenance and quality control on all equipment or reagents used for testing.
• Recognize problems with instruments, reagents, test results and/or supplies and initiates problem solving procedures.
• Record all results in an accurate, complete and readable format, utilizes computer systems correctly to generate results and notifies clients appropriately of panic value results.
• Address client related questions and problems in a courteous and efficient manner, following department policies and procedures.
• Participate in training of new employees and students in appropriate technical areas.
• Comply with all corporate integrity and safety policies of CompuNet Clinical Laboratories.
• Contribute to the overall effectiveness of CompuNet Clinical Laboratories by performing other duties as required.
