About The Position

Baptist Health is seeking a motivated and skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist II to join the Core Lab team at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville. This is a full-time position where the candidate will be trained in chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, hematology, and some serology. The role involves working with Beckman Instruments and an automation line for chemistry, hematology, and coagulation instruments. The Medical Laboratory Scientist II will collaborate with a team of 7-8 Medical Technologists and four Specimen Processors.

Requirements

2 years Medical Technologist Experience
Associate's Degree Required
Licensed Medical Technologist Required
Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technician Required
Must be licensed as a Medical Technologist in the State of Florida and in the areas of Chemistry and Hematology.
Candidates licensed prior to 1997 are not required to have certification per the State of Florida Licensure Rules.

Certified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Preferred

Responsibilities

Maintaining expertise and performing technical, specimen collection/processing, LIS, general department, and clerical functions in laboratory areas where applicable.
Maintaining records of performance as defined in the SOP manuals.
Performing all responsibilities without on-site supervision.
Supervising MLTs as General Supervisor and serving as Charge Technologist in the absence of other lab supervisors or MTs.
Instructing new employees and students.
