About The Position

Performs, calculates, reviews and reports laboratory diagnostic tests. Maintains and troubleshoots laboratory equipment. Understands the clinical significance of the testing performed. Responsibilities for teaching, training, correction of procedural/instrument issues increase through the range of MLS I to MLS III. This day shift position is for the Flow Cytometry and Immunology Department. Flow cytometry technologists perform highly complex testing such as Malignant Leukocyte Immunophenotyping and Stem Cell analysis. The ability to multitask in a busy section and work in a small team environment is required in Flow. Immunology has more independent bench work with Immunofluorescent Antibody testing and autoantibody testing with an analyzer. Flow cytometry and Immunology is in a large dynamic cost center, shifts and responsibilities can change depending on the needs of the department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in biological science or chemistry
  • Current ASCP Medical Laboratory Scientist certification
  • Meets requirements of MLS I
  • Expanded knowledge of laboratory tests
  • Ability to multitask in a busy section
  • Ability to work in a small team environment
