About The Position

Saint Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist to join its multidisciplinary laboratory team. The role offers the opportunity to perform a broad range of tests in a collaborative environment. Saint Luke’s welcomes both new graduates and experienced Medical Lab Scientists and seeks professionals who are confident in their skills, patient-focused, positive, adaptable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

This is a full-time night position, working 9:30 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. on rolling calendar days.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science.
• Medical Technologist certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
• New graduates must pass the ASCP registry within 9 months of hire.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment.
• Patient-focused, positive approach and willingness to go above and beyond for patients and peers.

Nice To Haves

• Less than 1 year of applicable experience is listed; both new graduates and experienced applicants are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and reliable analyses involving a complex network of steps and variables.
• Recognize technical, instrument, or physiological problems; identify causes and evaluate alternative solutions.
• Confirm and verify laboratory results using in-depth knowledge of techniques, principles, and instruments.
• Correlate and interpret data based on knowledge of physiological conditions that affect test results.
• Establish and monitor quality assurance programs.
• Participate in performance improvement programs.
