About The Position

Saint Luke’s Hospital on the Plaza is looking for a Medical Lab Scientist for our Microbiology department. You will have the opportunity to perform an extremely broad range of tests. This is a Full Time Day shift position, working four 10-hour days per week, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The role includes rotating weekends, working every 3rd weekend.

Requirements

• Must have ASCP accreditation or pass ASCP registry within 9 months of hire
• Bachelor's degree in related Science field required
• Less than 1 year Medical Technologist experience
• ASCP accreditation
• Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science

Nice To Haves

• Medical Lab Scientist experience in Microbiology preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and reliable analyses requiring a complex network of steps and variables
• Recognize technical, instrument or physiological problems, identifying causes and evaluating alternative solutions
• Confirm and verify laboratory results utilizing in-depth knowledge of techniques, principles and instruments
• Correlate and interpret data based on knowledge of physiological conditions affecting test results
• Establish and monitor quality assurance programs
• Participate in performance improvement programs
