About The Position
Baptist Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant to join their team in the Collection and Accessioning department at Baptist Medical Center. This is a full-time, day shift opportunity with a weekend rotation. The Collection and Accessioning department is responsible for receiving, sorting, entering specimens into the Laboratory Information System, labeling them with barcoded labels, and processing them. Requirements
- Less than 1 year Medical Laboratory Assistant Experience
- High School Diploma Required
Nice To Haves
- Associate's Degree Preferred
Responsibilities
- Performing a variety of clerical and technical duties associated with the pre- and post-analytical handling of laboratory specimens and results.
- Communicating laboratory results and responds to specimen-related questions from physicians and various other caregivers.
- Collecting blood specimens for routine and special laboratory procedures.
- Utilizing computer functions.
