About The Position

Medcan is seeking a passionate Medical Imaging Sonographer to join their dynamic and supportive team. This part-time role involves performing sonography examinations, maintaining equipment, and ensuring high-quality patient care. The position is scheduled for 2-3 days per week, Monday to Saturday, based on clinic needs and mutual availability. The Oakville clinic offers free on-site parking.

Requirements

1+ years of experience as a sonographer performing examinations such as abdominal exams
Member of the CMRITO
Ultrasound ARDMS certification
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to work independently and collaboratively

Nice To Haves

Breast, transvaginal and transrectal experience an asset

Responsibilities

Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations in accordance with infectious disease, sterilization and patient safety protocols, policies and procedures.
Review patient medical history, evaluate contraindications, obtain patient consent, perform required ultrasound examinations and document findings.
Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment and basic quality control checks.
Ensure sonography exam results meet facility standards for quality assurance.
Coordinate with cross functional clinic teams to ensure exceptional service and client experience.
Operates the PACS as needed so that the reporting physician may report findings.
