Medical Imaging Asst. - MRI Department
About The Position
The Medical Imaging Assistant works under the direct supervision of a Registered Radiologic Technologist and performs a variety of routine clerical, technical, and patient-related duties. The role supports members of the patient care team and provides healthcare services including patient check-in, exam review, visit preparation, patient education, assistance with exams and procedures, and patient transportation. The Medical Imaging Assistant is trained to use a variety of radiographic equipment, computers, and software. Depending on operational needs, the assistant may work across multiple Medical Imaging modalities and/or clinical services.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to perform the described duties under the direct supervision of a Registered Radiologic Technologist.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine clerical, technical, and patient-related duties.
- Assist members of the patient care team.
- Check patients in and review exams.
- Prepare patients for visits and provide patient education.
- Assist with exams and procedures.
- Transport patients.
- Use radiographic equipment, computers, and software.
- Work in and assist with multiple Medical Imaging modalities and/or clinical services as operational needs require.
