About The Position
The Medical Imaging Aide works in the assigned section of Medical Imaging at Samaritan Hospital, part of St Peter's Health Partners. Under the direction of the Director of Medical Imaging and in accordance with the Mercy care mission and values, the aide performs duties that vary by section. The role includes patient care, film library duties, inventory control, and other departmental needs. The position is per diem with a rotating shift. The listed pay range is $16.20–$19.74 per hour, with pay based on experience, skills, and education. Requirements
- High school diploma.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport patients from their rooms to the department, checking their identification bands to confirm identity.
- Bring the correct chart with each patient.
- Assist with transferring patients to department tables.
- Identify outpatients in waiting areas, ensure they change appropriately for their exams, and bring them to the designated area.
- Monitor compromised patients until they are taken into a room.
- Prepare and stock rooms.
- Deliver and pick up instruments from Central Sterile, when applicable.
- Clean and stock changing areas.
- Deliver and pick up “Wet Read” materials from physicians.
- Courier supplies between inpatient and outpatient buildings as needed.
- Deliver specimens to the hospital laboratory.
- Perform film library duties, inventory control, and other needs of the assigned section.
