About The Position

The Medical Historian, Phlebotomist supports plasma center operations by screening plasma donors and performing phlebotomy. The role involves providing customer service while maintaining donor and team safety, collecting and recording donor information, and supporting center processes. This is a part-time position, with most shifts lasting 4 to 6 hours per day and scheduled 3 or more days per week. Availability and shift days and times are confirmed early in the interview process, and schedule changes are communicated in advance. The position reports to the Plasma Center Manager and may involve a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift.
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above shoulders and below knees.
Ability to lift up to 5 lbs., occasionally lift materials up to 32 lbs., and rarely lift up to 50 lbs.
Fine motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance.
Ability to wear gloves for prolonged periods, as 90% of work tasks involve potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens (risk level 1).

At least 1 year of experience in a customer-facing or patient-facing role.

Responsibilities

Answer phones and greet and focus on donors while ensuring donor and team safety.
Screen new and repeat donors and take and record donor vital signs and finger-stick results.
Use the Donor Information System, prepare donor charts, maintain accurate records, and coordinate donor compensation.
Identify operational opportunities for continuous improvement and initiate changes to center processes using company-approved procedures.
Work a variety of shifts, including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
