About The Position

Red Nucleus is seeking a Medical Editor to join their global team. This role is ideally hybrid, based out of their Toronto office, but remote candidates outside of Toronto may be considered. In this position, the Medical Editor will work with the Medical Communications team, reviewing final drafts from Medical Writers to ensure accuracy, readability, and adherence to editorial styles of both Red Nucleus and clients. The ideal candidate has a passion for science and writing, a keen eye for detail, the ability to work under pressure, and is a positive, collaborative team-player adaptable to a dynamic environment. They should be motivated, a self-starter, independent, results-oriented, and possess excellent written communication skills.

Requirements

  • BA/BSc or 5 years related industry experience
  • Minimum three years of experience in copywriting/editing.
  • Exemplary written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and highly organized individual.
  • Naturally inquisitive and attentive individual.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and independently on multiple tasks within a deadline-oriented, fast paced environment.
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous pharma/agency experience beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Edit copy to correct errors of spelling, grammar and punctuation, ensure stylistic consistency, and enhance readability.
  • Work within copy deck formats that appropriately record changes, style decisions, source materials, and referencing requirements.
  • Review IA/wires/functional spec for branding, flow, and for correct spelling, punctuation and grammar.
  • Proofread designs and builds to verify that all copy has been included, to check formatting against specifications, to identify any layout issues, and to read for overall comprehension.
  • Review scripts, storyboards and animation work for inclusion of all content and client feedback.
  • Adapt existing medical copy and write new copy as required, with the support of a medical writer for research.
