Integrity. The Medical Director provides psychiatric oversight and clinical governance for Thompson’s North Carolina programs. This role is administrative and supervisory in nature and is designed to complement a full-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) who is responsible for day-to-day psychiatric care. The Medical Director ensures: Clinical quality and compliance, Appropriate treatment approaches, Oversight of high-risk cases, Alignment with evidence-based psychiatric practices, Administrative requirements are complete for medical necessity documentation.
