About The Position

Sanitas Medical Center is seeking an experienced Medical Director (MD/DO) to provide clinical leadership while overseeing our Pinellas and Riverview medical centers. This is an outstanding opportunity for a physician leader who is passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centered care while mentoring providers and supporting clinical excellence within a collaborative, value-based care environment. As Medical Director, you will partner with physicians, advanced practice providers, operational leadership, and multidisciplinary care teams to drive quality outcomes, support provider development, and enhance the patient experience. This role offers the opportunity to balance clinical practice with physician leadership while making a meaningful impact across multiple medical centers. Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
  • Active Florida medical license or ability to obtain prior to employment
  • Active DEA registration
  • Previous physician leadership or Medical Director experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of outpatient primary care and value-based care
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
  • Passion for mentoring providers and improving patient outcomes

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight for assigned medical centers
  • Mentor, support, and collaborate with physicians and advanced practice providers
  • Promote evidence-based medicine and clinical best practices
  • Support quality improvement initiatives, population health programs, and value-based care objectives
  • Partner with operational leadership to improve patient experience and clinical performance
  • Participate in provider recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and professional development
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Maintain an active clinical practice while fulfilling leadership responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, clinical standards, and regulatory requirements
