PhaseV (HQ in Boston, R&D in Tel Aviv) is a cutting-edge startup pushing innovation in the drug development process to bring new treatments to more patients in a more efficient and precise way. Leveraging advanced causal inference and machine learning, PhaseV detects hidden signals in clinical data and extracts actionable insights for planning optimal trials. Our proprietary ML-based platform powers four core product modules: Response Optimizer — uncovers patient response heterogeneity to identify optimal treatment populations; Trial Optimizer — designs more efficient, adaptive clinical trials tailored to sponsor objectives; Portfolio Optimizer — supports strategic portfolio-level decision-making across development programs; Clin Ops Optimizer — streamlines clinical operations for faster, more precise trial execution. Collaborating top pharmaceutical companies, as well as multiple CROs and biotechs, we are poised to make a significant impact on how drugs are developed and brought to market. Position Overview We are seeking a Medical Director to join our team in Boston to lead the clinical aspects of our data-driven approach to optimizing clinical trials. This is a high-impact, externally facing role that blends deep clinical expertise with business development, scientific communication, and product strategy. This role is based at our Cambridge, MA headquarters on a hybrid schedule (2–3 days/week in-office). We're open to candidates outside of Boston who are willing to travel to HQ on a regular monthly basis — we find that in-person time meaningfully accelerates collaboration. The Medical Director will serve as a key clinical voice across all four PhaseV product modules, supporting both internal teams and external stakeholders — from data scientists and engineers to pharma executives and KOLs. In the U.S. market specifically, this role will play a significant part in business development efforts, thought leadership, and marketing, including speaking engagements, conference representation, and content creation such as blog posts and white papers. The ideal candidate holds an M.D. with a strong interest in leveraging advanced statistical and machine learning methods to improve clinical trial design and execution. This role requires up to 25% travel, primarily for industry conferences, client meetings, and business development engagements.
