About The Position

The Medical Director of Operations is the clinician leader accountable for the daily fulfillment of JMMG’s staffing operation and the execution of JMMG’s Policies via Procedures. The Medical Director of Operations shall report to the JMMG VP of Hospitalist or Ambulatory Operations. JMMG’s priority is to pursue the underlying community health mission by managing the organization's complexity with its many stakeholders. The scope of services provided by JMMG includes direct clinical service staffing, management operations, and strategic partnerships.

Requirements

MD or DO degree with current Board Certification in an ABMS approved specialty
Greater than or equal to 0.5 FTE Clinical Effort expected
Full commitment to JMMG without Outside Employment

Responsibilities

Manage clinical services provided by JMMG for operational excellence.
Develop procedures to operationalize JMMG policies.
Engage in continuous process improvement efforts and employ the JMH Management system.
Fulfill business obligations, quality of service delivery, human resource management, financial stewardship, and risk/compliance.
Perform daily management tasks including scheduling (template management, reassigning patient lists), covering absences and surges, vacations, and day-to-day troubleshooting.
Work closely with the Chiefs of multiple specialty divisions in the arenas of human resources, risk, and compliance.
Collaborate and establish escalation pathways for hospital-based medical directors, especially concerning inpatient risk management.
Actualize performance through leadership, culture, and coherence to group policies.
Mitigate medical malpractice and employment practice liability, and ensure compliance with state and federal laws affecting medical group activities.
Understand and execute JMMG policies and procedures.
Maintain a productive and positive partnership with JMH/JMHPN.
Escalate new JMH staffing requests to the Chiefs of the Specialty Divisions and the COO.
Refer non-JMH Staffing requests to the President/CEO.
Work with the CFO on PSA staffing requests.
