About The Position

Premise's mission is to help people get, stay, and be well. As a PRN Medical Director, you'll provide clinical leadership and occupational health services in our Health Center located in Anderson, SC, 1- to 3 days per month. The clinic is open Monday-Thursday 7A-5:30P.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited medical school
  • Licensed to practice medicine in the state within which the site is located
  • Board Certification in Occupational Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine or a related primary care specialty preferred.
  • Board-Eligible physicians must obtain board certification within twelve (12) months of hire.
  • At least three years of post-residency clinical experience
  • Must have current state and federal DEA certification
  • Current Certification in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for health care providers is required
  • Knowledge of Internet software, Spreadsheet and Word Processing software

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer experience in occupational Healthcare or primary care, urgent care or emergency room setting.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services
  • Medical Review Officer (MRO) Certification may be required for some positions
  • Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred.
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides high-quality occupational and preventive healthcare services to employees in a collaborative employer-sponsored health center focused on workforce well-being, injury prevention, and health promotion
  • Advises client leadership regarding workforce health initiatives
  • Reviews injury trends and occupational health metrics
  • Supports return-to-work and fitness-for-duty determinations
  • Partners with Human Resources, Safety, and Workers’ Compensation stakeholders
  • Will oversee and provide specific occupational health services
  • Fitness-for-duty evaluations
  • Post-Offer physicals
  • Return-to-work evaluations
  • DOT physicals (if applicable)
  • Drug and alcohol program oversight
  • Occupational/Medical surveillance program oversight
  • Workplace injury assessment/care and trend analysis
  • Collaboration with safety committees
  • Clinical mentorship of APPs and nursing staff
  • Conducts histories and physical examinations
  • Develops and provides treatment plans in collaboration with patients; educates and advises on medical issues as needed
  • Provides internal/external referrals to appropriate medical resource(s) or specialty providers for work related injuries/illnesses
  • Provides emergency care within legal scope of practice and as defined by the Premise Health privileging process
  • Participates in the development of annual occupational health center goals and objectives
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, OSHA, DOT, CLIA, HIPAA, and company clinical practice standards.
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives, peer review activities, and clinical outcome monitoring.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • May formulate and administer health programs as needed
  • May oversee all lab functions including CLIA waived lab and testing if applicable
  • May oversee onsite RN, co-signing RN Standing Orders
  • May require other duties as assigned.
