About The Position

Family Pet Health Center, a CareVet partner, is seeking an experienced Medical Director Veterinarian to lead our thriving small animal practice in South Bend, Indiana. This is an exceptional opportunity for a veterinarian who is passionate about high-quality medicine, mentorship, and team leadership while enjoying the support of an established, collaborative practice. Originally founded in the 1930s, Family Pet Health Center has been a trusted part of the South Bend community for generations. In 2016, the hospital relocated and underwent a complete renovation, creating a modern veterinary facility equipped with the tools and technology needed to provide exceptional patient care. Today, our hospital is home to three experienced veterinarians, a dedicated support team, and a loyal client base that values the personalized care we provide. As Medical Director, you'll have the opportunity to guide the clinical vision of the hospital, mentor fellow veterinarians, and help shape the future of an already successful practice—all while maintaining a healthy work-life balance with no weekend hours.

Requirements

• Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
• Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
• Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
• Strong fondness and understanding of animals
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of animal behavior
• Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals
